Crime and Punishment

Crime and Punishment is a literary work that engages in psychological aspects, introducing a thought that polemicizes ethical and moral dimensions.  I will tell a brief synopsis of this book... Crime and Punishment is the story of a murder committed on principle, of a killer who wishes by his action to set himself outside and above society. A novel of fearful tension, physical, and psychological, yet in the life of its gloomy tenements and drink-shops provides moments of wild humour.  Crime and Punishment was marked by Dostoevsky's own harrowing experiences. He had himself undergone interrogation and trial, and was condemned to death, a sentence commuted to penal servitude. In prison he was particularly impressed by one hardened murderer who seemed to have attained a spiritual equilibrium beyond good and evil: yet witnessing the misery of other convicts also engendered in Dostoevsky a belief in the Christian idea of salvation through suffering.

Media literacy is the ability to access, understand, create, and communicate using various forms of media, such as text, images, audio, and video. Both skills require curiosity, creativity, and critical awareness of the purpose, audience, and credibility of the information and media. With social media becoming more and more the way that people consume information the ability to look at any and everything with a critical eye and take nothing at face value without diving into the credibility of the source of the information. Media and information literacy provides the backbone to understanding media and the role of media in our society, also provides some of the essential skills necessary for critical thinking, analysis, self-expression and creativity – all necessary skills for citizens in a democratic society.
