Sharing life experiences
I worked for a while in a hostel as a waiter, where I had to serve people who did not speak Spanish, I had the need to communicate with these people by using another language that is not my complete domain and knowledge.
- What was the result of the experience?
In this context in which I developed, I had to reinvent my communication methods and be more mentally agile to be able to solve any inconvenience or difficulty that may arise, in addition to organizing and being aware of different simultaneous tasks and being able to perform them quickly and efficiently.
- How did your flexibility and adaptability help you to deal with the situation?
I was forced to create a strategy to be able to carry out my work in an effective way and the most comfortable way for me and thus be able to cope with the situation.
Create a communication plan and a step by step to be able to understand and respond to people's requests, to be able to give the best experience and without so many difficulties.
I was able to learn to work under pressure and although there were mistakes due to inexperience, I managed to find how to amend those mistakes.
- Would you change anything in order to deal in a better way with it?
I would like to change the feeling of worthlessness that I sometimes felt because I did not know what I should do, how I should do it and what was the best way to deal with a situation.
I would change the overload I had for wanting to do everything perfect and not knowing how to ask for help for fear that they would not see me able to withstand the work.
I would change those feelings of frustration, anguish, and stress for wanting to give the best but that was not reflected.
- Conclusion
In conclusion, it is okay not to know what to do sometimes, perhaps because of inexperience or little knowledge. The essential thing is to find the way in which you feel comfortable and can perform your tasks in the best way and effectively.
